flowing into the joyful feels ☺️ | The Joyful Human Club 🌈

Hey, joyful humans!

Thank you so much for being here.

Super quick thing before we start, for my Canadians! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

The federal election is on Monday!! If you haven't gotten your advance vote in yet, please, please, PLEASE go vote! *cue Sabrina Carpenter*

If you need help determining which political party best aligns with your values, head to CBC Vote Compass.

If you want to vote strategically in your riding, head to 338Canada.com.

Voting is one of the best things we get to do as adults to help create a better world, so go vote on Monday! Thank you!!!

Sometimes, putting yourself out there is a no-brainer. But sometimes, after the fact, you think, "What did I just do? That's so wild!!"

After nine weeks of classes and so much laughter later, my first run of Yoga with Dani (nee Joyful Movement Club) is complete! My entire Monday beforehand was swept up in emotions, and it's one of those things where I know I'm making the right choice to pivot, but it'll feel so strange not to go to the community centre next Monday night.

I learned a LOT these past few months, but here are three things I learned that could help you if you're looking to do something similar for your community ☺️

Support will come from places you didn't expect
I was so thankful for all the support I received in doing these classes, from friends asking me how my classes were going IRL to all the positive encouragement I received online. What felt extra fun were the folks who supported me that I had no clue were interested in joining or were cheering me on from their own corner of the world! Our classes were made up of a beautiful kaleidoscope of friends from different parts of my world, and I was deeply grateful for everyone who made their support known, it meant the world to me!

Expectations will shift - go with the flow of them
What I envisioned vs. what happened were different in a few ways but it felt exactly like what was supposed to happen. I had visions of selling out every class (I didn't), but I know that if I had, it wouldn't have brought the vibes that I had genuinely hoped for. I thought of having a more upbeat class, but having a cozy, relaxing class with laughter after a long day to help us wind down was exactly what the class needed. Letting go and leaning into the flow and what the clients wanted made for a very special experience.

You are worthy of the best experience
When I thought about what I could improve for future classes, it kept returning to the reminder that we are all worthy of so much more. The community centre staff and the room we got for our classes were great, but I want to elevate the experience even more for my students moving forward. I cannot wait to remember past Dani teaching out of a community centre when my future self is teaching at a cool, hip location (or at least with less people coming in and out to play hockey. πŸ˜‰) I know there's a middle ground of accessibility and ideal experience and I'm determined to find it.

If none of this relates, I hope this last part does: When you can put yourself out there and give to your community, you will receive a truly unmatched joy. Your people are already out there cheering you on. Give back to them and see what kind of ripple effect it'll create. I promise that if it's joyful and genuine, all you'll ever want to do is keep supporting your people, and it'll always bring a fantastic high.

Stay tuned for more opportunities to hang out with me! I'm so excited to bring you all even more ways to move and connect with yourself! And thanks for being a part of the journey with me. ❀️
